QUILT CRAFTERS CORNER
Your Space to Create
Creative quilting is about more than following patterns—it’s about finding your voice through fabric and thread. Welcome, I’m Roberta. For the past ten years, I’ve been quilting with purpose—first making quilts for people facing disasters, refugees, and others in crisis through Quilts Beyond Borders. Working with donated scraps and an endless list of people who needed comfort taught me the power of creative quilting—how it can be both deeply practical and surprisingly expressive.
These days, my curiosity has grown beyond charity work. I’m fascinated by what quilters are creating now—the stories they’re telling through fabric, the mindful practices they’re finding in stitching, the artistic courage I see at quilt shows. There’s something happening in creative quilting that goes way beyond following patterns.
Here’s what I’ve learned: whether you’re working with scraps or premium fabric, whether you’re quilting for comfort or for art, the same principles apply. You can develop your technique while telling your story. You can find peace in the process while growing as an artist. You can be part of a community that gets why this matters.
That’s what we’re building here—a place where creative quilting serves your becoming. Not just better quilts, but becoming more confident with your own creative voice, more connected to why you make what you make, more skilled at turning whatever materials you have into something meaningful.
If you’re ready to see where quilting can take you, you’re in the right place.

We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing. — George Bernard Shaw
Feeling like you’re on a merry-go-round of the same old? Like you’re spinning in circles, but yearning to stride forward? It’s a sign. Your spirit’s itching for adventure, for a chance to dive into the unexplored. And trust me, there’s a whole world of inspiration just waiting to be embraced.
It’s okay to admit when the colors of your day-to-day seem a bit faded. When every stitch feels too familiar, and the patterns too predictable. But the beautiful thing? With the right spark, those colors can shine brighter than ever.
It’s not only moving that creates new starting points. Sometimes all it takes is a subtle shift in perspective, an opening of the mind, an intentional pause and reset, or a new route to start to see new options and new possibilities. — Kristin Armstrong
It’s easy to fall into the comfort of old habits, to tell stories already told. But consider a shift — where each day is an invitation to innovate, where your hands become storytellers, sewing new tales, stories yet untold, in vibrant threads and daring designs.
